Edie Rice
Edie is a woodwind educator, conductor, and instrument repair technician with more than twenty-five years of experience in instrumental music education. Over the course of her career she has built and led instrumental music programs across all levels, most notably rebuilding a declining band program at El Segundo High School (in Los Angeles) into a thriving, comprehensive music program and marching band. In addition to her teaching, performing and conducting work — including serving as Associate Conductor of the Flute Flock of Gettysburg and guest conductor for local ensembles, Edie is the co-founder and Music Director of Flutes on the 4th, an annual Independence Day flute choir event in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, that includes 76+ participating flutists from across the country. Recently, she was invited to present at the International Low Flutes Society in March 2026, sharing strategies for integrating digital tools into music education and performance. Edie is also the owner of ERMusic Repair, providing woodwind repair services to educators, students, and performers, and has served as a clarinet and flute audition adjudicator for the California All-State Music Education Conference.
