Center for Religious and Spiritual Life
About the Center for Religious & Spiritual Life
Our mission is to be a house of radical hospitality, a place of inspiring and inquisitive conversation across boundaries, and the site of interfaith friendship and spiritual growth. But we’re also just a friendly place to hang out and study or visit with friends!
Our kitchen is open to all, and it’s always stocked with snacks. (We just ask that you bring no meat products into the kitchen or dining room, and keep in mind that we’ve reserved one side of the kitchen for the use of students who observe Jewish dietary laws.)
Our meditation space is open 24/7 if you need a peaceful place for prayer or just some quiet time.
Our downstairs restroom is equipped for ritual ablutions for Muslim students preparing for formal prayer.
We have a large-screen TV in the living room, lots of board games, yoga mats, and plenty of space to relax and be comfortable.
Come see us! We’re the white house with the red door on the corner of West Stevens and Mummasburg streets.
During the semester, RSL House is open weekdays 11 am - 5 pm & during scheduled events. Need access outside these times? Contact an RSL team member to schedule a time to chat.
Here at the Center of Religious and Spiritual Life, we practice hospitality as we seek to promote inspiring and inquisitive conversation across boundaries and encourage interfaith friendship and spiritual growth. We warmly welcome students of all ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientation and gender identity or expression. We welcome those of all faith traditions and no faith tradition, and we welcome those with different physical, mental and emotional abilities. We serve the Gettysburg College community by providing opportunities to explore religious and spiritual life as part of our formation in lives of meaning and purpose. We do this with a spirit of joy, gratitude, and acceptance in keeping with the inclusive tradition of Gettysburg College.
As part of the College Life and Operations Division, we strive to provide outstanding support for students’ personal and interpersonal growth, development, and learning. Read the College Life Division Mission, Principles & Goals.
As members of the Gettysburg College community, we support the mission of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion including the College’s Land Acknowledgement Statement, Diversity Statement, Freedom of Expressions Policy, and more.
The staff looks forward to welcoming you at the Center for Religious & Spiritual Life!
